RM23803 - Consultant Clinical Psychologist
Band 8C (£63,570 - £74,710)

Hours: 15 hours per week. Location: Aberdeenshire Alcohol and Drug Service (AADS), Aberdeenshire H&SCP. Contract: Permanent.


This is a new post and an exciting opportunity to lead on developing the provision of psychological interventions in substance use services in Aberdeenshire.  In consultation with key stakeholders you will work to increase the capacity for psychological interventions across the Aberdeenshire Alcohol and Drug Service (AADS).  As part of a multidisciplinary team you will provide leadership in the planning and implementation of clinical governance, service evaluation and the development of tiered/matched care model of psychological intervention for substance using clients. You will provide training, clinical supervision and case consultancy to colleagues working in addictions services where required. You will also provide a small highly specialist psychology service for adults who have been referred for assessment and treatment of complex mental health disorders and addictions. 

Grampian Psychological Services have strong links to the University of Edinburgh/NHS Scotland Clinical Psychology Training Programme and there are opportunities to become involved in teaching as well as offering clinical placements to trainees.  The post holder will have close links with all psychology departments with opportunities for research and continuing professional development.
